GPS units use satelites to give our position. Foresters like the forest so much that they devote their lives to making sure that forests stay healthy and productive -- meeting the needs of our society and contributing to the ecological balance of the earth. Most foresters have spent at least four years in college studying about biology, ecology, math, physics, chemistry, and business. They have learned about the different forests of the world and about the plants and animals that live in them. Foresters also learn to work with groups of people who sometimes want different things from the forest, helping them to do what is possible and advising them what is not possible.
