Plowing in drainage tiles
The soils in the region must be artificially drained by trenching or plowing in drainage tile.
Digging drainage tile
The tile slopes towards a drainage ditch so excess moisture can gravity flow out of the field and allow for earlier spring planting.
Installing drainage tile
Tile drainage also helps prevent losing a crop due to flooding.
Plastic tile waiting installation
Plastic tile is used.
Drainage tile outflow
This is a typical flow from drainage tile in the spring.
