This is the inaugural issue of "eNews", a monthly update, from the NW Michigan Horticultural Research Station. We have initiated this publication to help keep you better informed on some of the extension and research activities taking place for the fruit industry in NW Michigan. 

Each issue will feature a topic that should give you some pertinent information to keep you current with the newest research findings or highlight a particular research project or education program. We welcome your comments and questions on any of the articles.

This month's issue covers Orchard Floor Management in Tart Cherry. This work was recently completed in an orchard adjoining the NW Station. Many of the findings are now being utilized by within the industry. Work is continuing on other research projects to even better refine the impact of orchard floor management on the ecology of our orchards and the impact on the environment.
