Publishing MAES Research Reports Researchers generally publish the results of their work in one of two ways: journal articles are written and submitted to professional journals for possible publication, or research reports are written and published through the MAES in conjunction with ANR Communications Services (310 Agriculture Hall; phone is 2-1555). Both types of documents need to be approved within the departments by a process of peer review and department chairperson's signature. A. Journal Articles If you are seeking to publish the information in a professional journal, you must follow the procedure outlined in your department. The MAES requests that you give recognition to its contribution by including an acknowledgement. The following is a suggestion: "Acknowledgement is made to the Michigan Agricultural Experiment Station for its support of this research." B. Research Reports If you are planning to publish a station research report, it is necessary to work closely with ANR Communications Services to avoid unnecessary delays. This section of the MAES Web site includes the following guidelines and forms: (The two forms are in pdf format and you will need Acrobat Reader software to view and print them.)
We have tried to make this process relatively simple. Additional copies of these forms and guidelines are available in the MAES main office. If you have questions, feel free to call the MAES or ANR Communications Services. Please send any comment or questions to Jamie DePolo |
